The Gospel Message

The gospel is THE single most important communication from God to man. Why?  Because it is God's answer to how sinful man can be reconciled to a perfect and holy God.  In fact, the word Gospel literally translated from its Greek origin word, euangélion, means good news!

So, the gospel message must be good news, right?

The Bible actually tells us what the gospel message is in Paul's letter to the church in Corinth:

"Now I make known to you brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures..." 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

Jesus Christ was crucified and died for the sins of the world. He was buried, and He rose again from the dead on the third day. He lives now and forever more, and He offers salvation from sin, and salvation from eternal judgment in hell, as a free gift to anyone who will repent and receive Him by faith as Savior, according to the Scriptures. This is the “Gospel” message.

Yes, it is good news indeed!
