CROSSTRAINERS

CrossTrainers is the youth ministry for students in grades 7 through 12. The ministry's goal is to foster Christ-like growth in a healthy and safe environment. CrossTrainers is built around four basic elements:

  1. Discipleship (mentoring through teaching and relationships)

  2. Fellowship

  3. Service

  4. Evangelism

CrossTrainers meets on Sunday evenings from 6-8 PM

(unless otherwise noted on the calendar of events).

Love & Respect for Family

A person who's interactions with his/her family is loving, respectful, and obedient. (Ephesians 6:1-3)

  • Obeys parents and authority in his/her family.

  • Known as getting along with siblings and parents.

  • Understands and respects the hierarchy and importance of family.

Purity in Relationships with the Opposite Sex

A person whose relationships with members of the opposite sex are not given to passionate lust or sexual impurity, but are holy and honoring to God. (1 Thessalonians 4:3-7)

  • Known for their purity.

  • Avoids situations that might be construed as impure.

  • Understand's God's desires for sexual purity and shares it.

  • Avoids relationships with those who are a bad influence.

Faithful Dependence on God

A person who relies on God constantly for guidance, support, and providence, while seeing His sovereign and perfect will. (2 Corinthians 1:9)

  • Attitude that nothing can be done apart from God.

  • Assurance in God's providence.

  • Plans time to link with God (scripture, prayers, etc.)

  • Known for humility and reliance on God in all circumstances.

A Thirst for Knowledge

A person who actively seeks knowledge and understanding of God's truth. (Proverbs 18:15)

  • Actively seeks to learn about God.

  • Knows why we believe what we believe.

  • Puts aside time to study about God.

  • Applies what is learned in his/her life.

Servant's Heart

A person who lovingly and freely serves others inside and outside the church. (Galatians 5:13)

  • Known as a servant to others.

  • Makes an effort to regularly serve those in the church and community.

  • Puts aside time to serve.

  • Known for joyful attitude in service.

Prayerful Dependence on God

A person who regularly goes to God in prayer for the purposes of confession, praise, thanksgiving, and supplication (Colossians 4:2)

  • Puts aside regular time to pray.

  • A recognition that prayer is vital to the life of a Christian.

  • Knows that God desires us to pray to Him.

  • Turns to God in times of trouble and in times of joy alike.

Values Scripture

A person who knows the value of scripture and is immersed in the reading and application of God's word. (Joshua 1:8)

  • Believes that it is supremely authoritative.

  • Spends time and plans to read Scripture regularly.

  • Competent understanding of what Scripture teaches.

  • Believes Scripture has a place in life and applies it.

A Heart for Unbelievers

A person who shares the gospel with unbelievers in a manner that is both passionate and driven by love. (2 Corinthians 5:13-14, 20)

  • Known as a friend to non-Christians.

  • Success in evangelism.

  • Attitude that evangelism is necessary and privilege.

  • Able to lovingly and clearly share the gospel message.
