Save the Date
March 28, 11-2. Ladies' lunch with guest speaker - Stacey Reaoch, a local author, pastor's wife, and mom of 4 kids. The topic is Choosing Contentment, based on her devotional book, Wilderness Wanderings, which traces the ups and downs of the Israelites' journey through Exodus.
Grief Share
The death of a loved one can be overwhelming. It can also be a very lonely experience to go through. Grief Share offers proven help for those struggling with grief. Dozens of our past group members have found real support, understanding, and most of all, the comfort that God alone brings to the broken-hearted. The weekly video features nationally respected grief experts and real-life stories about people who are missing loved ones. Small group discussions about the video give members an opportunity to share their own stories of loss. Our next 13-week cycle begins February 22nd and meets in room 201 from 2 - 4 P.M. There is no cost to group members. You are most welcome to register online at www.griefshare.org. We also welcome those who want to drop in to see if it’s right for you. You can also talk to group co leaders, Reid Moon, Kathy Walker, and Amanda Prugar. You will find encouragement, understanding, comfort, and help in your time of grief.
Lenten Suppers
Historically, the six weeks leading up to Easter are often referred to as Lent. Christians of varying traditions and denominations observe this period of time differently (or not at all). At Grace Church of Harmony, Lent is not an elaborate time of fasting or self-denial so much as it is a period of personal reflection on human sinfulness and our need to be reconciled with God. In that spirit, beginning on Ash Wednesday, February 18 and running through April 1, on each Wednesday night, we will be offering a light supper at 5:30 p.m. in the church social hall followed by a brief Lenten service in the sanctuary at 6:05 which will conclude at 6:20.
